 CS Girl Tutorial

Click OK, then close the Material editor and close the Modify Material dialog. You should now be looking at the main window again. In the Scene Window, if you expand the Materials node, you should see your checker material.
Expand the Groups node and you should see the groups we created in Milkshape.
Select the head group, then use the menu Select > All. Then select the menu Tools > UV Mapping and take a look at your choices. These are unwrapping methods built into LithUnwrap to help us. I will not explain each here though. Instead, I will only go through the ones we will use. Each method has its purpose and is good in certain situations. You’ll have to play with each to get a better understanding of what they do. Also, it is important to remember that none of these unwrapping tools built into LithUnwrap will do the job for us. They will give us nothing more than a good start on what we’re doing. You’ll see this as we work through our model.

With the head group selected, use the menu Tools > UV Mapping > Spherical. You should see the following dialog.
Make sure the Axis Alignment is set on the y axis and click OK.
Select all, then use the menu Materials > Modify. Select the checker material and click assign. Confirm and close the dialogs. Use the menu Preview > Show Model. You should have a window pop up showing your model with a checker pattern on the head.
