CS Girl Tutorial |
Close and save your model. We are ready to start unwrapping our model.
While Milkshape has a texture mapping tool, we have a better option in an application
called LithUnwrap. It is free and I am using version 1.3 at the time of this tutorial.
LithUnwrap has quite a few features which will help us to better lay out our model and
get it ready for texturing. Use the menu File > Model > Open to open your model. Use
LithUnwrap to immediately save a new copy of your model in case you need to start over.
The first thing we’ll need to do is add a material. We’ll add a checker pattern to
better help us lay out our faces. Select the menu Materials > Modify.
Click the Add button. Type in “checker” and click the OK button. In the modify dialog,
select the word checker and click the Properties button.
Click the Maps tab.
In the Map Type list, select checker and click the Properties button. Change both
the u and v Tiling settings to 20.
