About Me
My name is Chad Cox. I am married, have two kids and live in Grand Island, NE.
Work
I work at a metal buildings manufacturer as a programmer. Part of my job involves
designing and working with Microsoft SQL Server databases and building front ends
in ASP and Visual Basic. The other half of my job involves designing automated drawing
applications and AutoCAD add-ons in C++ using the Autodesk Object ARX/DBX API.
Hobbies
One of my hobbies, like my work, includes programming. I am an avid gamer who
loves the first person shooter genre. I am currently taking courses from
The Game Institute in hopes of learning
how to build my own. I am also working with 3D modeling and level building.
I'm a big hockey fan. We have a local hockey team here called The Tri-City Storm
but I'm more into the NHL. My favorite players tend to be goalies, of which the best
has to be Curtis Joseph of the Detroit Redwings (now that Dominik Hasek is gone).
Current Projects
ASP BBS - Currently I am working on writing my own bullitin board system in ASP.
Sure, I know it is reinventing the wheel, but I see it as a challenge and feel I can
put a new spin on what is out there.
Unreal Tournament 2003 Mod - I am working on putting together a team of friends
in hopes of making an Unreal mod. I see it as a challenge and have always had my own ideas
of what a good FPS should be like. We have the programming talent. Hopefully we can fill in
the rest of the gaps.
This Site
This site was first started in 1998 and was hosted by a friend. I have torn down and
rebuilt this site several times since then and have also changed the topic of the site
to match my current interests. The current topic is game development and I can't see
it changing any time in the future. I will continue to post information and files in
order to help those who share my interests.
Contact
My email address is chad@dosfx.com. If you have any
questions or comments, feel free to contact me any time. My free time is very limited so
I may be slow to respond. Because of this limitation, if you are looking for help on any topics
related to this site, it may be best to look for help on our IRC Network.
There you'll find friends of mine who are usually willing to help and some will most likely
have more spare time than I.
